Security Research, Innovation and Education Event 2017 will take place in Tallinn
We are pleased to announce that the European Commission in cooperation with Estonian Academy of Security Sciences (EASS) and the Estonian Ministry of the Interior will hold the Security Research, Innovation and Education Event in Tallinn, Estonia on 14-15 November 2017.
The two day conference will bring together approximately 400 participants - researchers, industry representatives, public security providers and practitioners (fire departments, police, intelligence agencies, etc.), policymakers and representatives of academies from across Europe.
Conference
In the conference, the focus will be on how to reduce the gap between research and the market so that innovative solutions could meet the needs of practitioners and other users. This year the Security Research Conference will have two high level panels focusing on conveying the future needs of practitioners to the research community and
the EU`s post-2020 research framework programme. Moreover, topics of other panels will address:
- security research requirements and potential solutions for managing borders;
- reacting to terrorist attacks;
- using the police to manage multi-country disaster situations training and preparation of future policing in terms of security research – perspectives and challenges.
Exhibition
The exhibition aims to help boost innovation and cooperation between governments, private companies and Europe’s research community. The selected security research projects financed under FP7 and H2020 will display innovative security services and systems that are available for being adopted by industry and users.
