Estonian Academy of Security Sciences signed a contract for the design of the Narva learning centre
On 1 February the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and 3+1 Architects signed a contract to design the Narva learning centre of the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences.
The design shall be compiled based on the concept design “TWIX” that was announced as the winner of the architecture competition held by the EASS in cooperation with the Estonian Association of Architects in autumn 2017. The design of the building shall be finished at the end of October, and the construction shall start already at the end of this year. The new building shall be finished by the summer of 2020.
The Narva learning centre at Kerese 14 shall be built in cooperation with the University of Tartu and the Ministry of the Interior. In addition to the cadets of the EASS, the learning, training and dwelling areas of the Narva learning centre will also be used by the officials of the Police and Border Guard Board. The section belonging to the University of Tartu will be used by the employees and students of the Narva College of the University of Tartu.
The sports and training areas of the Narva learning centre will also offer the citizens of Narva opportunities for spending their free time. The building meant for learning, training and accommodation, which net area will be 7800 m² and cost nearly 17 million euros, will be co-administered by the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences and the University of Tartu.
